During the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology actively carried out online teaching courses and programs in order to minimize the impact of the epidemic on international students' study in the spring semester. All courses of International students’ have been offered with online instruction by the professional schools.
Lu Wei, the teacher of the "Read & Write Chinese" course, uploaded the content to WeChat group before each lesson, so that both on-campus and off-campus students can download the relevant materials for pre-reading. Teacher Lu was able to get feedback from students on the questions of the course contents and vocabularies by using Ding Ding Talk.
Yu Xiangchun, the lecturer of the “Linux System Programming” course, adopted a combination of video lectures and online tutorials to arrange lesson schedules so that international students in different time zones can attend online classes punctually.
Isaac Kofi Mensah, a Ghanaian teacher of JXUST, uploaded PPT and made record for online teaching. It not only increases student’s interests for this course, but also helps students to learn this course in an efficient way.
For student’s better understanding of the course, Wang Tao, the teacher of “Power System Relay Protection” course, spent plenty of time from lesson preparation to answering questions.
Ye Kuntao, who is teaching “college physics”, chose the Ding Ding Talk ultimately for his online teaching by comparing various online teaching platforms. He hopes to take this opportunity to learn the way of using online teaching platform with students.
The “Analog and Digital Circuits”, taught by Iranian teacher Atajahangir Moshayedi, is an experimental course. Teacher Ata used Tencent Meeting for online teaching, and Wechat group for problems solving and assignments. What’s more, he conducted experimental classes through the online platforms. On improving teaching quality, it is of great importance.
