On 17thMay, President Xi jinping replied a letter to all Pakistani students studying at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He encouraged all international students to communicate more with Chinese youth and worked together to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
On 20thMay, School of International Education held a forum titled“Studying on A letter in Reply from President Xi jinping”. The International student representatives who were in the campus and the dean Xiao guifang and the vice deanXiaojing and related fellows from School of International Education had attended this forum.
In this forum, students conscientiously studied the letter, shared studying experience and expressed their gratitude to Chinese government and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology.
REHMAN SAJJAD UR, a representative of the Phd students, pointed out his feelings for China is growing deeper and deeper during his study in the campus in the past three years. Especially in the recent three months, he has witnessed the strong power from Chinese government and Chinese people during the outbreak of COVID-19 and expressed sincerely thanks to the concerns and help from the university.
TALHA MUHAMMAD, a student studying Chinese language, expressed gratitude to China in Mandarin. While fighting against the epidemic, China has also provided medical supplies and assistance to Pakistan. As an old saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed. He hopes the friendship between China and Pakistan would last forever.
MALIK BILAL TARIQ, a student from Electrical Engineering, said he is deeply impressed by enthusiasm and kind of Chinese people during one-year study. The Chinese government has provided all-round support to Pakistan during the outbreak of epidemic. Meanwhile, the university has also given sufficient care and help to international students.
Xiao guifang, the dean of School of International Education, said the letter from President Xi jinping has delivered concerns from the Chinese government to all students coming China for studying. It also has guided us to study in China. She hopes students could learn the spirit of this reply letter. At the same time, the dean Xiao has conveyed concerns from the university again and emphasized international students should not lower their guard in the fight against COVID-19. What they should do is to follow the university’s regulations and take protective measures.
